Greg Smith joined Moran & Company in 2005. He is a Partner in the Dallas office responsible for business development, client relationships and transaction management. Greg has 20 years of experience in commercial real estate with the last 12 years focused on multifamily in the Texas markets, overseeing in excess of $2 Billion of transactions. Greg is a CPA in addition to being a licensed broker and believes he adds value by bringing broad experience and an attention to detail to every engagement.
How do you describe what you do?
My basic function is to broker sales transactions of multifamily investment property, however, being a broker for Moran & Company is more than a sales job. Ultimately, I am tasked with helping to maximize investment returns for my clients. The way I do that is to step in to my client’s shoes to act as if I am the owner and execute the best possible strategy for success. That means being fully engaged in the marketing and transaction process from the initial valuation and planning all the way through contracting and closing.
Why did you choose real estate?
As a young man, one of my early jobs was with a home building company doing all manner of construction activities. That experience made me appreciate working with something tangible. I chose real estate because it allows me to go see or set my feet on the subject of my work. I can use my financial background and skills while at the same time satisfying my desire to be involved with something physical.
